A former Goldman Sachs executive joins Coinbase

Roger Bartlett, a Goldman Sachs veteran who has worked in a variety of roles at the firm since 2005, announced his resignation.

In a LinkedIn post, Bartlett stated that he would be leading Coinbase‘s worldwide finance operations after 16 years at the investment banking behemoth.

“It’s time to embrace the crypto economy.. It’s time to follow my passion to help enable the next generation crypto economy. The inspiring purpose-led mission to create economic freedom in the world, in a customer first, automation first approach is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of building the next stage of the digital evolution.” – the exec said on LinkedIn.

This is another example of crypto and Web 3 companies attracting executives from large companies. Last month, YouTube’s Head of Gaming Ryan Wyatt joined Polygon as the CEO of Polygon Studios. Jamie Byrne, former Senior Director of Creator Partnerships of YouTube, announced that he will be joining NFT platform Bright Moments.
