$600M: Sequoia’s New Bet on Crypto Startup Tokens

In the heart of Silicon Valley, a new cryptocurrency fund has been formed by venture capital company Sequoia Capital, with a potential pool of up to $600 million to invest in the cryptocurrency space.

Sequoia Capital said that the Sequoia Crypto Fund will be intended to invest in liquid coins and digital assets.

As Sequoia Capital explains, “our objective with this fund is to participate more actively in protocols and token-only initiatives, as well as learn by doing ourselves.”

The company led a $450 million investment in Polygon, an Ethereum scaling solution, earlier this month.

Sequoia administers investment funds, including funds focused on India and Southeast Asia, Israel, and China, as well as funds focused on the United States and Europe.

The venture capital firm is one of the most respected funds in the world and has invested in companies such as Apple, Cisco, Google, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Zoom, PayPal, Reddit, Instagram, among other.
